How to Use Honey for Hair Growth

Honey is a natural ingredient made primarily of fructose and glucose, which has minerals and vitamins that can nourish the body. Due to its ability to retain water, honey is an effective hair moisturizer. Hair products that contain honey can help to moisturize the hair and prevent tangling and breakage of the hair.

Use 1 tsp. honey, 2 tbsp. olive oil or jojoba oil and 1 egg yolk to treat your hair's split ends. Beat the egg yolk then combine it with the olive oil and honey. Separate hair into sections. Use clean hands to slowly rub the honey mixture into your hair. Massage the honey into the hair strands for proper application. Put a shower cap over the hair; leave for 30 minutes. Remove treatment from the hair by rinsing and shampooing.

Use honey to treat colored hair to avoid breakage and damage that may result from the hair color. Simply squeeze pure honey (from a squeeze bottle) onto the hair roots. Use your fingers to gently rub the honey into the hair until it is completely saturated; leave for 20 minutes then rinse and shampoo.

Clean the hair scalp to avoid hair loss. Mix 1 tbsp. honey and 1 tsp. cinnamon powder. Apply the paste onto the scalp and leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse and shampoo. This keeps the scalp nourished and clean and further increases hair growth.
