How to Get Rid of Static Electricity in Hair

Static electricity in your hair is annoying and can really ruin a great look. Static is usually a problem for your hair in the winter months. Try a few methods to get rid of static electricity in your hair so you can look great all winter.

Things You'll Need
  • Anti-static spray
  • Conditioner
  • Fabric softener sheets
  • Humidifier
Put a humidifier in your room to put moisture back in the air. When you turn the heat on in the winter, the dryness helps create static electricity. You also can put pots of water out to evaporate into the air or even put damp towels over a radiator to add moisture to the air. Moisture in the air will cut back on the static electricity in your hair.

Use hair conditioner on your hair when you shower. The hair conditioner will add moisture to your hair and this will help cut back on static.

Spray anti-static spray on your brush before you blow dry and brush your hair. You can use the same anti-static spay used on clothes.

Wipe your hair with a fabric softener sheet you would use in the dryer for clothes. The sheets will take away the static electricity in your hair. They are also great because you can carry them in your purse or bag and use them anytime. Make sure you pick sheets with a pleasant smell.
